Web platform for Belcolade: Connecting customers, artisans and the supplier of industrial chocolate
Traditionally, Belcolade operated within a B2B model, selling premium chocolate only to large industry buyers. This limited access for smaller entities and individual enthusiasts eager to use high-quality chocolate for small commercial ventures and home baking. The challenge was to extend Belcolade’s market reach to include these smaller buyers through direct sales channels while integrating B2C and B2B2C transactions into one seamless digital platform.
Challenge
Traditionally, Belcolade operated within a B2B model, selling premium chocolate only to large industry buyers. This limited access for smaller entities and individual enthusiasts eager to use high-quality chocolate for small commercial ventures and home baking. The challenge was to extend Belcolade’s market reach to include these smaller buyers through direct sales channels while integrating B2C and B2B2C transactions into one seamless digital platform.
Approach
To address the unique needs of both buyers and suppliers, we restructured the platform into a fully integrated two-sided marketplace that streamlined interactions between professional chocolatiers and Belcolade’s network of suppliers.

For Buyers (chocolatiers, confectioners, and manufacturers): We designed an intuitive product catalog with interactive filtering, allowing users to easily compare chocolate varieties based on origin, taste profile, cocoa content, and sustainability certifications. Reusable UI components and a modular design system ensured consistency and scalability across the experience. For Suppliers: We created a robust backend system that allowed suppliers to manage inventory, update product information, and communicate directly with buyers. This self-service model empowered suppliers while keeping information up-to-date.
We took a strategic and user-centric approach, starting with in-depth research into the needs of professional chocolate buyers. By analyzing user behaviors and business goals, we identified key friction points in the customer journey and developed a solution that combined elegance with efficiency.
We established a design system, that included creating custom iconography to visually represent complex product attributes, such as cocoa origin, processing methods, and sustainability certifications. To further enhance usability, we designed reusable UI components.
One of our primary focuses was on product visualization—we developed a clear and structured way to present technical product details without overwhelming the user. Interactive elements, intuitive filtering, and high-quality imagery brought the products to life while making comparisons effortless.
Additionally, we ensured the platform was optimized for global audiences, considering language adaptability, region-specific product availability, and a seamless mobile experience. The result was a digital presence that not only looked visually stunning but also worked effectively as a sales and engagement tool for Belcolade’s B2B customers.
Impact
The revamped digital platform successfully transformed Belcolade’s online presence, aligning it with the brand’s premium positioning while making it more functional for B2B clients. By streamlining product discovery and improving content presentation, we significantly enhanced user engagement and decision-making efficiency.
The new design system allowed for easier updates and consistent branding, reducing maintenance efforts while ensuring a polished user experience. The custom visual elements and interactive product attributes helped buyers quickly grasp essential information, leading to a smoother purchasing process.
Internally, Belcolade’s marketing and sales teams benefited from a more structured and intuitive platform, making it easier to communicate product value to clients. The improved navigation and product visualization tools resulted in higher engagement, reduced friction in product selection, and a more seamless transition from exploration to purchase.
Ultimately, this project reinforced Belcolade’s commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and innovation—not just in chocolate making but also in delivering a world-class digital experience that meets the evolving needs of its customers.
